Anti-Gay Déjà Vu: Another Miss California Contestant Courts Controversy

It seems beauty pageant contestants just can’t seem to keep their dislike for gay marriage to themselves.

Just months after one Miss California was dethroned, another “Christian” vying for the title is under fire for her outspoken views.

Shouldn’t pageant beauties be limiting their sphere to important issues like lack of geographic knowledge, or ignorance of foreign affairs?

If you are wondering why the stupidity of empty headed bottle blondes is “news”, I can offer you this: Beauty pageants have become the latest bull pulpit for the out loud and proud religious right.

No longer content to use former queens turned juice salesmen, the morally intolerant have turned to local level contestants to reach a wider audience with their hate speeches.

What does same-sex unions have to do with beauty pageants? Nothing, but it has everything to do with getting the message of “hate the sin, hate the sinner even more” out to the widest possible audience.
