REBECCA: “the shadow of a ghost?”

Daphne du Maurier would be proud to know that a musical based on her celebrated novel REBECCA has been made.

Such an honor after winning the Oscar for Best Picture in 1940 (Dir: Alfred Hitchcock).

Interestingly enough, it’s a musical that’s entirely in German — and I saw it in Vienna, Austria!

This clip includes the demorecording in English with Pia Douwes as Mrs.Danvers.

The musical, written in English by Michael Kunze, will arrive stateside in Spring 2010.
