‘Susan Boyle is a virus’, says Elaine Paige

Elaine Paige could care less that Susan Boyle has always idolized her since she was young. Even though they shared the stage last year to belt out Elaine’s hit ‘I Know Him So Well’ together, the feeling is not mutual.

Regarding SuBo’s rise to fame via YouTube, Elaine dissed Susan in The Daily Mail as “a virus really that spread across the world in a nanosecond.”

Since ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, SuBo has “done terribly well to be a major star overnight with YouTube,” Elaine admitted begrudgingly. The numbers concur: over 120 million YouTube video views and more than 3 million copies of her debut album sold in a month — easily the fastest selling female debut album EVER!

But none of these facts and figures matter to has-been Elaine, who considers Susan to be “a girl with no experience of anything to do with theatrics, the music business, or art in any way.”
