Flipping Off! – Take 5
This week Jeff & Co abandon The City of Angels and head off to The Big Apple in style. Jeff has been selected by House Beautiful to design their yearly Kitchen of the Year showroom, which will be open to the public in Rockefeller Center during peak tourist season. Wow!
Jeff and Jenni are headed to the HB HQ for a progress meeting, and since it’s Zoila’s birthday, Jeff decides that a lasagna lunch isn’t going to cut it, so he brings her along for an all expense paid vacation. Nice.
While the cat’s away, the mice have no time to play, but must prove they can function on their own. Sarah in particular is given the responsibility of supervising the demolition of the straight’s house. Unless I missed something, she actually did really well. Maybe next week we’ll find out they demolished the septic system or something.
After raiding the hotel’s mini-bar, probably just to annoy Jeff, Zoila is treated to a few new outfits. It’s very generous of Jeff to pay, but also a little creepy that he helps pick the clothes. Am I the last person left on Earth with no desire to control the minutia of other people’s lives? Here we get the funniest line of the night when Jeff quips, “Zoila has so many nice uniforms, and I don’t see why she can’t just go out in one of those!” LOL
Back to business: While Zoila is wide-eyed transfixed by the city’s sights, J&J are blind-sighted by the staff of HB, who surprise them with an unplanned presentation in a dazzling sky-top conference room filled with higher-ups and sponsors. This is one of those annoying Bravo moments where we’re treated to a week’s worth of promos making it seem like an utter disaster only to find during the show that after an awkward start, Jeff charms the pants off them all. Fizzle.
Not too much happened design-wise, so on to the crazy:
- Once again Jeff and Bravo decide to film with a developer only to use the footage of the poor guy to make fun of him. I don’t think they should mess with people from Brooklyn.
- It’s Zoila’s birthday, so Jeff decides to badger her about the way she cleans the kitchen sink. Happy Birthday!
- There was yet another scene about cat poo. I think we were suppose to have laughed. Are Bravo shows produced by 12 year old boys on a camping trip?
- It’s a shopping trip for Zoila for Zoila’s birthday, but Jeff manages to squeeze in another dig about Jenni’s sense of style. ZZZ
So join us again next week as we continue ‘Flipping Off!’
